HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER REFEREE NEWS AND EVENTS

Mini-mission statement:  The HS Soccer Referee Working Group meets and organizes events to provide the best trained referees to our HS customers.

 

 
Training and written test review for the IHSAA Soccer tournament will be held for all NW IND soccer officials on 8/28/2009 at Valparaiso University at 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The room number will be sent out soon .
Please make plans to attend and go over and review the test and review the season so far . If you have any question please let me know .

PRIORITY INFO:   The following EVENTS should improve HS referee abilities

·         "Refresher Training"   - Special HS topics review and pre-season field work.

·         "Pre-season Meeting"  - Review of NFHS rules / Any past problems

·         "Kick-off Meeting"  - Priority Info from Working Group to all HS referees

·         "2009 Part II Test Review"  - Study for IHSAA Playoff Consideration

·         "Post Season Meeting"  - Season feedback and Award Recognition

 

 The following ISSUES are being undertaken to facilitate improved service.

1.      "Mentoring"  -  Use of experienced referees to help the newer ones.

2.      "Observations" - Review alleged shortcomings and correct.

3.      "Professional Referee Certification"  - Referees qualify after three (3) IHSAA    assigments, qualification, and then recommendation by the officials association.

4.      Award Recognition -  Our HS customers exhibit great sportsmanship and  we want to recognize this.  Also, we have referees who have demonstrated significant improvent and new referees who have impressed who we feel deserve peer recognition of their abilities.

5.      Recruitment -  Find and train individuals who have interest to referee.
